The Climate Change Speaker Network was initiated during 2006 by Climate
Concern UK, a campaign with the objective of increasing public understanding
of climate change issues.
Peter Hale of Climate Concern UK had been giving regular climate change talks to
schools and societies in his local area, having found that many were readily willing to invite
a speaker. He wanted to encourage others to do similarly on a
wider scale throughout the UK, as well as to make it easier for anyone wanting a talk to find
a local speaker.
